Our Mission and Vision

Where visions of multi-modal transportation can be realized
-
Where opportunities for year-round recreation abound
“Quality projects should be developed “according to a particular hierarchy. They should be considered first as manifestations of a single plan or idea, then, second, united by their landscape and open space structure, and finally framed by their buildings.”
The Black Mountain Commerce Park and Chapman’s Cove at Black Mountain are conceived as places of creative and innovative activities and images.
“People want to be in places that feel good to them. They prefer nicely appointed places with beautiful views rather than adequate but uninteresting places. Further, people want to feel good about the physical places they are affiliated with: their home, their workplace, sometimes their city and state.” (Mission and Place, Daniel R. Kennedy, Richard Dumont and Gregor Kennedy, Praeger, 2005, P.5)
Therefore, the creation of the Black Mountain Commerce Park and Chapman’s Cove will realistically blend the functions and ambiance of a mixed-use commerce park with the character and appeal of a residential campus milieu.
